In my tempera paintings, Cats&Co, I merged elements of cats and diverse anciane and modern culture.
I tried combining anthropomorphic feline figures with traditional attire and details from Chinese, Japanese, and other cultures and civilisations to create unique and visually striking pieces.
I am very proud of myself – I have a tangible personal connection with this series and am satisfied with the results.
These paintings are a whimsical blend of my fantasy and cultural and historical influences, drawing on significant and insignificant real and imaginary personalities from diverse historical, literary, artistic, and mystical backgrounds.
I invite you to explore and appreciate the fusion of different artistic inspirations. All of the images/ artworks are painted on paper using tempera, gouache, and watercolour.
The theme of the first series was Cats and Wine – to create that series, I used only my imagination and lots of creative hours of my life. I painted it with acrylics and gouache paints.
Wine is sunlight held together by water – Galileo Galilei.
There is the goddess of wine and alchemy. She is a beautiful, distinguished, sophisticated creature.

Wine is Art
The second image depicts two snobs-art lovers, eccentric, I have to admit, in the museum of art. There is also their butler with a selection of the best wine.

La Vita è Bella
In the third one, you can find a lovely couple in their beautiful villa somewhere in Tuscany, admiring their vineyard and the landscape.

We shall drink no wine before it’s time! OK, it’s time. Grouchio Max.
In the last painting from the Cats&Wine series, we are in a private club, ONLY CATS, where all the eccentric figures from the past and future can meet, mix, argue and drink not only wine.

In the next post, I invite you to my world of anthropomorphic cats from China.
