This vibrant mixed-media artwork, rendered in oil and acrylics, is a deeply personal and visceral expression of my disillusioned outlook on the current state of humanity and the world.
The work is richly textured, with tactile qualities and a dynamic interplay of colours that reflect a sense of unease and the conviction that immediate improvement is unlikely. The surface, alive with tactile brushstrokes and layers, embodies the weight of my feeling, suggesting a future where solutions remain elusive. The central piece, a prominent male tie, serves as a potent and intriguing symbol of perceived male dominance and its inherent flaws. The tie is black-based with spattered blue hues, added by me using alcohol ink. I integrated the tie into the composition. It might serve as a powerful motif, representing male dominance and its perceived shortcomings. This adds my deeply personal and critical layer to the abstract narrative.
I want to invite you to reflect on societal structures and the challenges that face our collective future.
