The title reflects my view of my work—that I build a world from my imagination, exploring the human condition and our relationship to the universe. My “brain” is the origin of the story that becomes the finished piece, a sort of “conversation with my cosmos”.
I like this painting. It is an exciting, original and uneasy work. Everything about making it was unusual. I painted/collaged it on the grass in front of my studio and worked long hours without getting tired. My brain was making and helping it. It has been made from old CDs, wires, pieces of wood, plastics, old seeds, screws, nails, nuts, and probably many other things I have forgotten. Here is my brain talking to the world. I made a conscious effort to maintain a high level of spirit and energy while working on it.
I am an empath, and my brain is very often bleeding when watching, reading and seeing the reality, inequality, unfairness, climate disaster, and the extinction of animals and plant species. It is not an optimistic image.
