I began by allowing myself to get lost in a world of pure, unbridled colour and motion. The canvas is layered with electric blues, hot yellows, and passionate reds, built up using spontaneous, energetic strokes. I used overlapping circles and arcs to create a sense of movement—it’s the visual equivalent of a loud, joyful symphony. This intense, expansive colour field represents the Yang principle: light, warmth, and active energy.
But that energy needs an anchor. To achieve balance, I introduced a moment of defined stillness—the Yin. This is expressed by the two simple, contrasting black circles. The solid black disc is a pure void, a moment of silence in the noise, while the second circle, defined only by a thin outline, frames and highlights a moment of cool blue beneath it.
These two points of rest are then connected by a thin, meandering black line. It’s the thread that weaves through the entire piece, uniting opposites and proving that dynamic chaos and quiet control are fundamentally inseparable. This work is truly about finding balance in the burst—the necessity of shadow to make the light meaningful.
